Intermediate Levels

| Level V | |
Students will practice conversational skills for discussing business trips, Japanese office procedures, registering for courses, and other topics. Advanced conversational skill is emphasized. Grammar: making comparisons, advanced usage of te / de form of adjectives, dictionary form of verbs, -ta koto ga arimasu, modifying nouns, obligations, orders, prohibition, permission. |

| Level VI | |
Students will acquire intermediate conversational skills such as job interviews, making hotel reservations. Topics are Japanese culture, Sumo wrestling, exchanging gift, and more. Grammar: Complex sentences, expressing uncertainly, conditional form, volitional form (intention), polite expressions potential form of verbs. |

| Level VII | |
Students will learn more intermediate conversational skills such as canceling reservations, giving messages to others, talking with real estate agents and tour guides, making contracts, and expressing what others say. Listening and speaking practice is emphasized. Grammar: complex sentences, Japanese idiomatic expressions, passive and causative verbs, expressions related to formal and informal relationships. |

Students will be taught how to socialize in Japanese, and the "Japanese Way" of speaking in the office and at home, as well as other topics. Listening and speaking practice is emphasized. Grammar: honorific expressions, complex sentence structure, difference in male / female conversation |
